This Summer School will be held in English language and it should give an
insight in the most central themes of husserlian phenomenology: intentionality,
evidence, categorial intuition, the eidetic method, transcendental reduction,
the levels of constitution, time-constitution, genetic analysis of prepredicative
judgement, intersubjectivity, life-world and Husserl‘s critique of science.
The Summer-School is organized in cooperation with the Husserl-Archive in
Leuven. It will be a compact seminar of totally 28 hours. The course w ork
will be from 27-31. July 2009 at the University of Cologne, Room 4.016. The
time scedule is Mo-Fr 10-13.00 (lectures + discussion) and in the afternoon
Mo-Fr 15-17.00 there will be a discussion of texts that should go into some
details and in this way help to enhance the understanding of the topics.
The lecturers are: Prof. Dr. U. Melle (Leuven), Prof. Dr. D. Lohmar (Köln),
Dr. J. Brudzinska (Köln / Warschau), Dr. A. Altobrando (Köln),
Luis Niel and others t.b.d.
We are planning for a course that should inform intensively on the essential
topics of phenomenology on a medium level but we are also open for discussions
of methodical questions on a graduate and postdoctoral level.
This course will is also handled as a "Hauptseminar" for the students of
Cologne University. To get a qualified certificate for this Hauptseminar
a written paper on a topic to be determined is expected.
This international Summer School is open for students from all countries.
Because we have no financial support to offer for participiants we strongly
encourage You to apply for short term grants at Your university or other
institutions.
